Last updated: 8 July 2026 · Applies to the website voicequill.studio

The app collects nothing. This page is about the website.

The VoiceQuill macOS app runs entirely on your Mac. There's no account, no sign-in, and nothing you type or generate is ever uploaded — the app has no servers to send it to. This policy covers only what happens on our website, voicequill.studio, where a small amount of data is collected if you sign up for updates, download the app, email us, or consent to advertising cookies. Each of those is explained below.

01Who's responsible

The data controller for this website is Nexxen-Consult, trading as VoiceQuill, based in Amsterdam, the Netherlands.

For anything in this policy — including any request about your data — contact hello@voicequill.studio.

02What we collect, and why

Email updates ("keep me informed")

If you sign up to be kept informed, we collect the email address you enter. The form is processed by Formspree, which passes it to us. We use it only to tell you about significant VoiceQuill updates and the launch — we email sparingly, not on a schedule. Legal basis: your consent, which you can withdraw at any time by unsubscribing or emailing us.

Downloading the app & your registration key

To download VoiceQuill you enter your email address so we can send you a registration key that unlocks the app. We collect that email (again via Formspree) and use it to deliver your key and the download link. If you tick the optional box, we'll also send you occasional product updates. The key is tied to you — that's precisely what lets the app stay fully offline, with no accounts and no sign-in. Legal basis: taking steps at your request to provide the app; and, for the optional updates, your consent.

Emails you send us

If you write to hello@ or feedback@voicequill.studio, we receive your email address and whatever you include in the message. Our email runs through Cloudflare Email Routing and is delivered to a Google (Gmail) inbox. We use this only to read and reply. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in responding to you.

Advertising & measurement cookies

With your consent, we load the Meta Pixel and the TikTok Pixel. These let us measure how our Instagram and TikTok campaigns perform and reach people who've visited the site. They collect your IP address, device and browser information, the pages and actions you take on the site, and cookie identifiers. Nothing loads until you click "Accept" on the cookie banner — if you decline, no pixel runs. Legal basis: your consent.

Hosting & security logs

The site is hosted on Vercel and served through Cloudflare. Like all web hosts, they automatically process technical data such as your IP address and request details to deliver the site and keep it secure. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in running a secure, working website.

Your cookie choice

When you accept or decline, we store that single preference in your browser (local storage, under the key vq_consent) so we don't ask again on every visit. This is essential to honour your choice and isn't used for tracking.

03Cookies & similar technologies

No non-essential cookies are set before you consent. Here's the full list:

Name / sourceTypePurpose
vq_consent — our site (local storage) Essential Remembers whether you accepted or declined cookies. Set for everyone; not tracking.
Meta Pixel cookies (e.g. _fbp) — Meta Marketing Ad measurement and retargeting on Facebook/Instagram. Loads only after you accept.
TikTok Pixel cookies (e.g. _ttp) — TikTok Marketing Ad measurement and retargeting on TikTok. Loads only after you accept.

You can change your mind at any time using the Cookie settings link (also in the site footer), or by clearing this site's data in your browser.

04Who we share data with

We don't sell your data. We use a small set of service providers ("processors") to run the site. Each only receives what it needs for its job:

We may also disclose data if the law requires it.

05International transfers

Several of the providers above are based outside the EU, mainly in the United States. Where your data is transferred outside the European Economic Area, we rely on the safeguards those providers put in place — typically the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses, or an adequacy decision where one applies. If you'd like more detail on a specific transfer, email us.

06How long we keep it

07Your rights

Under the GDPR, you can ask us to:

To exercise any of these, email hello@voicequill.studio. You also have the right to complain to the Dutch data protection authority, the Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens.

08Children

This website and VoiceQuill aren't directed at children. In the Netherlands, we don't knowingly collect data from anyone under 16. If you believe a minor has given us data, email us and we'll delete it.

09Changes to this policy

If we change how the website handles data, we'll update this page and the "last updated" date above. For significant changes, we'll flag it on the site.

This policy is provided in good faith as a plain-language description of how the VoiceQuill website handles data. It isn't legal advice. If your circumstances change — a registered company, new tools, EU ad spend at scale — have it reviewed by a qualified professional.
